Overall Description:
Join us for an update on the top substances used by bariatric surgery patients, including tobacco, marijuana, alcohol and opioids, potential risk for postsurgical abuse and impact on surgical and medical outcomes. Each presentation will include a summary of landmark studies, recent research, assessment and clinical considerations, and areas for future research. We will conclude with a discussion of postsurgical treatment of opioid abuse, with time for questions and answers from our panel speakers.
